My interview with Noha after one year and half from taking the Hand in Hand parenting workshop
What was your main challenge as a mother before Hand in Hand parenting workshop?
Since my son turned one year old he became very aggressive, he hits, sometimes he was uncontrollable , doesn’t obey nor listen to me
it was hard on me I didn’t know what to do how to handle him
First I thought this is his nature then I figure no it is about him, it is about me and how I should treat him
What attracted you in the Hand in Hand parenting tools ?
- I figured out when I was young I obey my parents because I care for them, I respect them not because they yell at me nor punish me
- I wanted to know simple tools that let my son obey me and respect me in the same time
What was the benefit of the tools on you as a mother and on your son?
1- My son behavior changed, when I know how to listen to him he became very calm, not aggressive any more, he doesn’t hit me, in fact he started to show me his love, and hugs me
2- He became much more cooperative and listen to me much more easily
3- As a mother I feel less stressed; I face less power struggle with my son
4- I turned to be a mindful, thinking mother I think before reacting to him, I think how I want my relationship with him to be, and it is not about the problem I am facing now only
If I didn’t take the Hand in Hand workshop my son would have been like other boys uncontrollable, aggressive, un-obedient, I would have lost my relationship with him
