My child woke up every day and doesn’t want to go to the nursery,I face power struggle with him every morning to convince him to go to the nursery
What shall I do ? I want him to leave ,I have other important things to do,,….
A very common power struggle for the parent their children refuse to go to the nursery ,before handling the problem you need to understand the reason and why your child doesn’t want to go to the nursery
1-Going to the nursery is difficult experience for him for the first time he will separated from you and he will be with people that he doesn’t know nor trust. Even he used to go for months this might not be enough for some children
2- Children are born to be close ,connected to their parents because it s their nature ,nothing wrong in this ( they are born to spend quality time with their caregivers and not quantity )
3- Nurseries have a set of structure while they want free play and this structure bother them especially in the first years
What shall I do ,how can I convince him to go?
1- When u leave him in the nursery assure him that you will be back
2- Don’t wake him before the nursery drop in time for short time and be in hurry to dress him and get ready ,leave enough time even for 10 minutes to spend quality with him,bond with him
3- Leave him the flexibility if ok with you that sometimes he can be delayed and stay more with you (I said sometimes and not always)
