What was your biggest challenge as a mother before joining Hand in Hand Parenting workshop?
1- I was very stressed, under pressure don’t want to pass such stress to my daughter . I didn’t know how to control myself while dealing with my little one and I didn’t want to make it worse on her
2 – I wanted to learn to deal with my daughter based on science. As in our culture we usually take the knowledge from family , friends which might not be correct . We cannot reply on it especially when we raise little human
What was the main benefit of the workshop on you and on your daughter ?
The worshop helped me a lot as a mother,
1- Deal with my daughter positively especially in the challenging moments while she is crying
She uses to cry a lot, scream when she started to go to the nursery. I just stayed calm ,didn’t try to convince her, nor yell at her . At night before she sleeps I sit with her, talk to her calmly, motivate her .
She stopped crying while going to the nursery , she even now goes smoothly
2- Know how to give her attention even during her tantrum
When she used to cry , insisting that I sit with her, play with her, while I was very busy doing other stuff. I apply thetool I sit with her for few minutes giving her my attention and concentration .
She smoothly and happily accept later to sit alone till I finish my stuff.
3- How to let her listen to me
She used to insist to open the refrigerator , when I just tell her “NO we won’t open it ” in a positive attitude like we learned in the workshop she learned not open it and I don’t even remind her
The parenting workshop helped me to be calmer, in control especially during her tantrum,know how to deal with my daughter in a proper way not just based on people talk and experience.
I understand that children doesn’t act bad because they are bad,it s because they have a problem .When we understand that ,we know their signals, it help us to deal with the problem, to be calm, it helps our children to feel our love, and understand us
