3 things parents can do to solve children fight

What shall I do when my child has been beaten by his friends and come home crying and complaining

A very common problem many parents are facing nowadays  ,their children fight with their friends

The solution  is not only to tell your child what to do or say to his friends , what it matter is how this fight might affect him negatively.

How it might affect his self confidence, he might feel weak ,my friends have more power and I am helpless ,can’t talk,nor deal  with my firends

It might affect his social skills and refuse to mingle ,play with his friends  due to his fear to be beaten again and again

 

What to do in this situation ? How to protect him from such negative impact ? 

 

1. Let your child talks about his experience ,and expresses his feeling, his anger by crying,complaining

2. Listen to him ,emphasize  don’t advice and wait till he finishes

3. Ask him next time when this situation is repeated what you think you can do or tell your friends to avoid this fight

 

The aim is to train your child to solve his problem ,you don’t have to solve it from him and tell him what to do ,

but you can support him to find solution 

Besides if you offer him solution for example “go and beat him back” ,may be this is not the best solution for him ,may be he will prefer to go and talk with his friend or whatever

Let him find solution suitable for him and support him to do it
